I don't think you can turn off adaptive cruise control and just use "dumb" cruise control but you can go into the settings and change the following distance to something much shorter than default. This means the car will not break as often. EDIT: after listening to feedback, I did some driving and realized that: 1. PCS and adaptive cruise are separate things, 2. With adaptive cruise off, there's no need for me to disable the PCS. I think because messing with PCS was how I tried to lower the adaptive cruise settings, I confused them for being dependent on each other.
